Job summary

CDM Smith's CEI team seeks an on-site field inspector to monitor and inspect project sites across multiple locations. You will perform complex inspections in roadway, bridge, drainage, erosion control, and maintenance/traffic categories, using plans and specs while communicating results to supervision.

The role requires reading construction plans, knowledge of materials and equipment, and the ability to work with limited supervision. Travel up to 40% is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI if required by client.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 6 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to ensure materials and methods meet plans and specs.
• Use higher-grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspection tasks.
• Review drawings and prepare for on-site inspection.
• Document and communicate inspection results to supervisor.
