Job summary

Wagman Heavy Civil, Inc. is seeking a Bridge Carpenter in Toano, VA. Reporting to direct supervision, the Bridge Carpenter will build forms, pour concrete, and perform bridge demolition and rebuild tasks as part of the project team.

The role requires proficiency with form systems, lumber cutting, and coordinating with crew to meet schedules. This safety-sensitive position participates in drug testing and follows Federal Contractor compliance.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED preferred with basic reading and writing skills.
• 3+ years experience as a Journeyman Bridge Carpenter.
• Experience with bridge construction, form systems, hand and power tools, and highway construction scopes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Construct built-in-place or prefabricated wooden and/or metal forms according to specifications for molding concrete structures.
• Saw lumber per blueprint dimensions and nail lumber to make form panels.
• Lift and handle forms and assemble or erect prefabricated forms.
• Anchor and brace forms to fixed objects using nails, bolts, and anchor rods.
• Build scaffolds, temporary frame shelters, overhang jacks and safety railings.
