**CATON CONSTRUCTION GROUP**, part of The Caton Companies, is seeking a Bridge Form Carpenter to join our heavy civil construction project team in WAKE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA.

Starting Pay is based on skills and experience.

This skilled craft position involves constructing, erecting, and repairing built-in-place or prefabricated forms and structures, including concrete footings, slabs, walls, columns, bridge decks, and bent caps. The ideal candidate is familiar with machinery used for bridge finishing, rebar tying, and related heavy civil construction duties.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Erect built-in-place forms or assemble and install prefabricated forms according to blueprints
• Inspect work-in-progress for conformance to specifications and plans
• Maintain, protect, secure, and optimize resource use
• Identify and report extra work or changes to the project manager/engineer
• Follow safety standards and promote safety on all sites
• Assist with survey and field layout; support estimators and engineers in project pursuits
• Ensure quality control and safety policies are met; promote safety and quality training

Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to read blueprints, perform estimates, and check work for compliance
• Experience with pile driving, concrete forming, steel erection, shoring, cofferdams, drilled-shaft foundations, and bridge deck forming
• Knowledge of bridge superstructure/substructure, cofferdams, work trestles, and construction methods for major bridges and retaining walls
• Precision in measurements and ability to operate trade tools and equipment safely

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience as a bridge carpenter in heavy construction preferred
• Strong interpretive skills for drawings and project specifications
• Knowledge of driving piles, erection, steel tying, concrete pouring/finishing, erosion control setup
• Understanding of survey controls, grade checking, bridge geometry
• Competency in reading civil plans, basic computer skills, valid driver license

Position Details:

• Full-time, Monday-Friday, approximately 48 hours/week
• Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (Mon-Thu), 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (Fri); hours may vary, including potential overnight stays for out-of-town work
