What You'll Do
- Structural Installation: Perform expert installation of flooring, ceilings, door frames, doors, windows, and framing components throughout facility environments
- Surface Finishing: Execute professional sheetrock installation and repair, including gypsum wall board, spackling, and painting to maintain facility aesthetics
- Carpentry Craftsmanship: Construct, install, and repair partitions, millwork, doors, frames, hardware, accessories, and related fixtures and equipment
- Compliance Management: Ensure all work meets safety codes, building codes, and company policies through meticulous attention to detail
- Workspace Organization: Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure all tools and equipment remain in good working order
- Inventory Control: Assist in maintaining comprehensive inventory of tools, materials, and supplies needed for ongoing projects
- Project Support: Collaborate on larger construction projects, renovations, and remodeling tasks as part of the facilities team
- Communication: Provide clear updates to management and team members regarding project progress and potential issues
- Emergency Response: Address urgent maintenance requests promptly and efficiently to minimize disruption
What You'll Bring
- Professional Experience: Proven track record as a carpenter with a strong portfolio of completed projects
- Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent; formal training or certification in carpentry or related field preferred
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of carpentry means and methods
- Working knowledge of complementary trades (mechanical, electrical, plumbing)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and building plans
- Experience in facility maintenance within commercial and occupied environments
- Safety Awareness: Comprehensive knowledge of construction safety protocols and procedures
- Professional Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities and exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time-management capabilities
- Self-directed work ethic with ability to operate independently
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical Capabilities:
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Capability to bend, stoop, and work in confined spaces
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Schedule Flexibility: Available to work Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. with occasional off-hours and Saturday work as required
