Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior carpentry or related construction experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain CDL permit.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read simple blueprints or drawings.
• Must provide own hand-tools and carpentry tools as listed by LIRR.

Responsibilities

• Repair wooden bridges, trestles, and tunnel supports.
• Repair/replace structural members of bridges.
• Perform carpentry, concrete work, painting, masonry, tiling, taping, spackling, wallpapering, and snow removal.
• Use hand and power tools.
• Dig trenches and holes.
