Job summary

Thimble Alterations LLC is seeking skilled bridal and formalwear alterations professionals who can work remotely as independent contractors. You will tailor wedding gowns, bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses, and handle fittings with careful measurement and clear timeline communication.

Ideal candidates bring precision sewing skills (machine and hand), strong garment construction knowledge, and excellent customer service to build repeat client relationships through the platform.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations.
• Strong garment construction knowledge plus precision measuring.
• Machine and hand sewing proficiency.
• Professional communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers).
• Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle).
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly.
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings.
• We also receive requests for prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
