Job summary

Thimble Alterations is seeking skilled bridal and formalwear alterations professionals who work remotely as independent contractors. You will handle wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom outfits, with a focus on precise measurements, fittings, and high-quality finishing.

Local client requests are provided through the platform, offering flexible scheduling and the opportunity to grow repeat clients and reviews on your profile.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with bridal and/or women’s formalwear alterations.
• Strong garment construction knowledge and precise measurements.
• Machine and hand sewing proficiency.
• Professional communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers).
• Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle).
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly.
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings.
• We also receive requests for prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
