Job summary

BBQ Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Brewhouse Operator to produce wort and maintain brewing equipment and the facility. You will work within a team to execute the brewing process safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has strong planning, good communication, and a genuine passion for brewing. This role requires physical work, lifting, and standing for long periods, with flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Strong planning and project management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication.
• Passion and commitment for brewing.
• Able to lift heavy objects (50 pound malt bags) above five feet.
• Standing for extended periods.
• Able to multi-task and work in a team.
• Able to understand MSDS and handle chemicals used in the brewery.

Responsibilities

• Complete brewing process in a safe and efficient manner, including milling, mashing, lautering, wort boiling, cooling and transferring to storage vessels.
• Repair brewery equipment with assistance from Brewhouse staff.
• Complete daily cleaning and maintenance checklists.
• Aid with yeast propagation following Company’s process.
• Maintain cleanliness of all areas in the brew house.
• Work with Lab Technician to ensure product meets quality standards.
• Maintain use of standard operating procedures unless otherwise instructed.
• Communicate regularly with Granite City staff.
• Maintain inventory and report low levels to supervisor when necessary.
• Arrive to each shift on time with a positive attitude.
• Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
