Job summary

Mass General Brigham seeks a Breast Imaging Radiology Quality Improvement Specialist Navigator who is a certified Mammography Technologist. You will ensure patient preparation for breast imaging, coordinate expeditious scheduling of ultrasound‑guided, stereotactic, and MRI‑guided procedures, and provide pre‑ and post‑procedure education.

You will support radiologists, maintain Epic breast reporting, and communicate results promptly to patients.

Qualifications

• Provide competent, compassionate care to our patients.
• Articulate the role of the Breast Imaging Navigator to the patient, family, and healthcare team members.
• Provide pre-procedure assessment, instructions, and education to patients in person or initiate pre-procedure contact.
• Schedule all breast imaging procedures according to regulatory guidelines.
• Coordinate and expedite patient care, including scheduling all breast procedures (ultrasound-guided, stereotactic, MRI-guided).
• Conduct post-procedure follow-up and patient education.
• Respond to patient inquiries promptly.
• Maintain and update the breast reporting system (Epic).
• Communicate pathology results to patients as per radiologist recommendations.
• Update radiology reports with pathology addendums.

Responsibilities

• The navigator prepares patients for breast imaging exams and procedures.
• Facilitates expeditious scheduling of patients and all breast procedures.
• Provides pre-procedure assessments and education.
• Assists radiologists in managing procedure-related complications as needed.
• Follows up with patients and communicates results in a timely manner.
• Maintains pathology reporting in the system and coordinates with referring physicians.
