Job summary

Shamin Hotels is seeking a Line Cook – Breakfast for the Hilton Garden Inn Virginia Beach Oceanfront. You will work an early shift (approximately 5:00 AM–12:00 PM) in a fast-paced hotel kitchen, preparing breakfast items for the hot buffet and à la carte orders to Hilton standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork, food safety, and efficient setup/breakdown of stations, with opportunities for growth within a leading Virginia hotel group on the oceanfront boardwalk.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a line cook or prep cook, preferably breakfast-focused.
• Proficiency in basic cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be available for early morning shifts starting at 5:00 AM.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast items to Hilton brand standards.
• Set up, stock, and maintain the hot breakfast buffet.
• Cook à la carte breakfast orders to guest specifications.
• Operate grills, flat-tops, ovens, and fryers safely.
• Monitor temperatures to ensure food safety and quality.
• Set up the kitchen and stations at shift start; breakdown at end.
• Monitor buffet timing and replenishment to minimize waste.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of stations and equipment.
• Assist with prep work and dishwashing as needed.
• Monitor inventory and report low stock items.
