Job summary

Break Time Assistant Managers help oversee store operations in MFA Petroleum’s Break Time locations. They coach team members, assist with store finances, associated controls, and ensure excellent customer service while maintaining food safety programs and inventory integrity.

They support daily reporting, banking, merchandising, and shift supervision, and help train new staff in policies and procedures while working with store technology and POS systems.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Available to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance with reliable transportation to bank.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Works well individually and in leading a team.
• Accurate math and ability to complete shift reports.
• Able to learn new concepts and operate computer/office equipment.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand up to nine hours.
• Able to work in the United States with legal authorization.
• Pre-employment background check and drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and encourage the store team to do the same; greet and thank customers and handle transactions.
• Assist in day-to-day store operations including reporting, banking, inventory, bookkeeping, fuel management, and keeping the facility well maintained.
• Assist with merchandising, pricing, promotions, stocking, and fronting merchandise; support food service and safety programs.
• Support store supervision when the manager is absent and contribute to performance evaluations.
• Maintain timely communication with customers, vendors, employees, and management.
• Understand store finances and help control expenses; participate in audits and inventory processes.
• Assist with recruiting, training, and developing a strong team; promote food service and regulatory compliance.
• Operate store technology and POS, count cash, and prepare shift reports.
• Adhere to policies and be willing to perform other duties as assigned.
