Job summary

CoreBrace is seeking a Project Engineer to design Buckling Restrained Braces (BRBs) and related connections, coordinating with Structural Engineers of Record, steel fabricators, detailers and erectors on projects worldwide. You will analyze design documents, develop calculation packages, review shop drawings, and support bidding, pricing, and field RFI responses.

A Civil/Structural Engineering degree and PE license (or ability to obtain) are preferred, with strong communication and detail

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain one preferred.
• Understanding of current building codes and standards, engineering fundamentals, and structural load paths.
• Familiarity with seismic and structural steel design preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Operational knowledge of RAM SS, ETABS, RISA, etc.
• Attention to detail and strong focus on quality.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Design of BRBs and their connections.
• Design of gusset plates and verification of local effects in frame members.
• Analysis of project documents to ensure compliance with design requirements.
• Design assist with SEORs responsible for overall design.
• Coordination with SEORs, steel fabricators, detailers and/or erectors during all stages of projects.
• Generation of deliverable documents, such as design drawings and calculation packages.
• Review and verification of shop drawings.
• Response to RFIs from field and/or shop during installation and manufacturing.
• Addressing plan check and peer review comments pertinent to BRB design.
• Occasional duties including bidding/pricing, travel, marketing, and R&D activities.
