Position: Line Cook

A Line Cook is an hourly, non-exempt team member who reports directly to the Executive Chef. The Line Cook provides quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials in designated outlets, in accordance with company standards. Responsibilities include maintaining organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment.

Requirements
  1. Demonstrates and shares a solid knowledge of the menu, ensuring proper preparation of all food items to meet standards.
  2. Displays knowledge of all menu items, recipes, and ingredients.
  3. Quickly learns new recipes, cooking techniques, and menu rollouts.
  4. Follows recipes to ensure consistency in food quality.
  5. Answers guests' and team members' questions regarding the menu accurately.
  6. Contributes to food cost management through attentive dating, labeling, and rotation of inventory.
  7. Follows prep sheets to ensure proper amounts and limits waste.
  8. Maintains complete knowledge of property layouts, table/seat/station numbers, proper table setups, room capacity, hours of operation, price ranges, and dress codes.
  9. Maintains knowledge of all menu items, including prices, preparation methods, cook times, major ingredients, quality standards, taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, garnish, and plate presentation.
  10. Organizes work efficiently, maintains concentration, and thinks clearly when serving multiple guests.
  11. Endures physical movements throughout the work area.
  12. Performs job functions with minimal supervision.
  13. Strictly adheres to state sanitation/health regulations and company standards.
  14. Meets with Chefs to review assignments, anticipated business levels, and other pertinent information.
  15. Inspects cleanliness and organization of line workstations, rectifies deficiencies, and maintains standards throughout the shift.
Additional Information

Preferred: One to two years of experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
