Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time music educator to work with children and adults in the corps and community. You will plan and implement a music program, teach theory, performance, and values, and coordinate weekly lessons and recitals.

You'll lead music and arts activities, support corps concerts, and help organize community events that promote the mission. This role requires teamwork, reliability, and a commitment to the Salvation Army's principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in music preferred or extensive teaching experience.
• Minimum of two years’ music experience with children/adults; performance experience preferred.
• Certifications/Licenses: None.

Responsibilities

• Lead music and arts programs and plan weekly music lessons.
• Attend recitals and prepare corps music programs for year-end concert.
• Encourage participants to develop skills and self-esteem through music.
• Organize performances and community activities to advance the mission.
• Support summer camps and divisional music camps.
• All other duties as assigned.
