Job summary

The Salvation Army seeks a part-time music program instructor to work with children and adults in the corps and community. You will plan and teach music theory, performance skills, and values, lead weekly lessons, and help organize recitals and community events.

Responsibilities include coordinating with corps leadership, encouraging personal growth, and supporting summer camps. A bachelor’s in music or equivalent experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in music preferred, or extensive experience teaching music.
• A minimum of two years’ music experience working with children/adults.
• Performance experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead music and arts programs as assigned.
• Plan weekly music lesson curriculum and implement the program.
• Prepare and attend recitals and concerts at the end of the school year.
• Encourage participants to develop musical skills and self-esteem.
• Organize performances and community activities to promote the mission.
• Support attendance at summer camps and music-related activities.
• All other duties as assigned.
