Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Associate Manager of Brand Voice to lead a team of writers, shaping our brand language across all customer touchpoints. You will establish guidelines, ensure consistency, and balance creative voice with business and regulatory needs.

You will collaborate with marketing, creative, merchandising, and agencies to translate brand strategies into compelling narratives and scalable messaging frameworks that resonate with customers across channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in copywriting, editing, and evolving brand voice across channels and touchpoints.
• Strong command of grammar, editorial standards (AP Style or similar).
• Strategic thinker with planning and narrative development abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of writers, establishing clear standards and processes.
• Own and evolve the Meijer brand voice across channels and communications.
• Act as steward of voice quality for AI-assisted and human-generated content.
• Translate brand strategies into messaging frameworks and storytelling.
• Partner with design, marketing, and legal/compliance to ensure high-quality execution.
