Job summary

PlanetScale, Inc. is seeking a Brand Designer to shape and evolve our visual identity across all touchpoints. You will translate complex database concepts into compelling visuals for developers and tech leaders, from web graphics to event branding and merch.

You will craft design systems, collaborate with marketing, and create assets for campaigns, product launches, and digital experiences. This role emphasizes brand coherence, innovative visuals, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience designing for technical or developer-focused brands.
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design tools.
• Understanding of design systems and component-based thinking.
• Enthusiasm for learning about databases, infrastructure, and developer tools.

Responsibilities

• Visual Brand Development: design web graphics, diagrams, and assets that simplify complex concepts.
• In-Person Experiences: design booth graphics and environmental branding for conferences and events.
• Website and Digital Assets: design website components, data visualizations, and social graphics.
• Brand Evolution: collaborate with marketing leadership to evolve brand identity and maintain guidelines.
