Job summary

PlanetScale is seeking a Brand Designer to shape its visual identity across touchpoints. You will translate complex database concepts into compelling visuals, support event experiences, and design website components, data visuals, and marketing assets that resonate with developers.

You'll help evolve the PlanetScale brand alongside marketing leadership, exploring new directions while maintaining coherence and producing templates and systems that move the team quickly.

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrates versatile design across digital, print, and experiential work.
• Strong grounding in typography, color, composition and visual hierarchy.
• Experience using AI to accelerate design workflows and build efficient processes.
• Comfortable operating in both brand strategy and production details.

Responsibilities

• Visual Brand Development: design web graphics, diagrams, and interactive assets.
• In-Person Experiences: create booth graphics, signage, and event branding.
• Website and Digital Assets: craft landing pages, visualizations, social imagery.
• Brand Evolution: collaborate with leadership to expand and maintain brand guidelines.
