PlanetScale is seeking a Brand Designer to shape and evolve its visual identity across all touchpoints. You will translate complex database concepts into compelling visual stories for developers and technical decision-makers, crafting web graphics, merch, and website assets.

You’ll own visual brand development, design in-person experiences for conferences, and create dynamic website components, data visualizations, and social imagery.

We're looking for a Brand Designer to help shape and evolve the visual identity of PlanetScale across all touchpoints. In this role, you'll be a key member of our Marketing team, translating complex technical concepts into compelling visual stories that resonate with developers and technical decision-makers. You'll craft everything from in-person event experiences to web graphics, merch designs, and creative website assets that make databases feel exciting.

What's the job to be done?

Visual Brand Development

• Design web graphics including technical diagrams, illustrations, and interactive visual assets that simplify complex database concepts.
• Create compelling visual systems for campaigns, product launches, and marketing initiatives.
• Design for multiple formats and contexts: digital, print, experiential, and merchandise.

In-Person Experiences

• Design booth graphics, signage, and environmental branding for conferences, meetups, and community events.
• Collaborate with the events team to create memorable, on-brand experiences that stand out

Total Compensation and Pay Transparency

An employee's total compensation consists of base salary + benefits + equity. A member of our Talent Acquisition team will be happy to answer any further questions when we engage with you to begin the interview process.

Base salary range: $170,000 - $220,000 USD
