The focus and responsibilities of this position are to supervise and facilitate all aspects of our cross-dock operation, logistical warehousing, and contractor support for 24/7 operational success. This person will meet all service requirements while adhering to the policies and procedures of Relay Express, Inc. The candidate must possess strong relationship skills and maintain a positive solution based attitude at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Have a complete understanding of Relay Express' Romulus warehousing/logistics, services programs, customers and service parameter definitions.
- Follow customer specific SOP and insure all inbound and outbound completed daily.
- Follow SOP for all warehouse customers.
- Responsible for keeping the warehouse looking professional, clean, safe, and organized.
- Provide input to the development of new employees as a team approach to training.
- Supervise productivity and measurement of Forklift operator/warehouse support position
- Maintain all metrics provided by clients as expected.
- Sign for and complete all incoming and inbound deliveries according to customer requirements.
- Support the recruiting department with contractor interviews, orientations, and other compliance related issues as needed.
- Responsible to interview, screen, and orientate the best Independent Contractor driver candidates available to support 24/7 operation.
- Maintain an Independent Contractor fleet including coverage levels, reporting issues, on site orientation, and compliance. This includes daily confirmations of the market with the planning department for 24/7 operational success.
- Maintain financial stewardship of the branch and contractors within corporate parameters
- Maintain professional attire, language, and business demeanor in all dealings with customers, employees, and vendors.
Accountability:- Shift Reports from Romulus staff to HQ Daily
- Execute Inbound & Outbound logistics per customer SOP
- Track and stage supplies, returns and all other freight for next day pla
- Overall OTP for all customers in your market
- Retention of Contract Drivers
- Performance Standard >75%
Requirements:- Flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, roughly Monday–Friday 010:00-19:00 – Note, schedule will change frequently based off operations and business needs.
- Approx. 10% travel as needed to other markets for training and continuing education - Greater Midwest region.
- Ability to adapt to changing customer needs and driver availability.
- Serve as a liaison between customers, contractors, and the operations team.
Compensation:- Salary range $57,000-$65,000 based on experience
