Job summary

SouthState Bank, N.A. is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to help lead the Houston branch, drive sales, deepen customer relationships, and ensure compliance with operational controls.

The ABM supports the Branch Manager in supervising staff, coaching teams, and delivering exceptional service. Key duties include overseeing deposits and loans, maintaining security, handling customer inquiries, and promoting product initiatives.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, BA degree and/or 2 years in Banking.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in Customer Service/Sales/Branch Manager with supervisory background.
• Knowledge: Leadership, communication, planning, organizational skills, decision-making, writing, training, presentation, customer service, initiative, interpersonal skills, computer literacy, English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist Branch Manager to lead branch toward sales goals and coach staff.
• Supervise designated staff in daily tasks affecting performance and staffing decisions.
• Serve customers quickly, accurately, and confidentially per standards.
• Process loan applications within lending authority and assist delinquent collections.
• Ensure security procedures and maintain audit readiness at the branch.
• Balance cash with tellers and resolve customer problems with courtesy.
• Enroll customers in self-service options and discuss banking products.
