Job summary

Eastern Bank is seeking a Branch Assistant Manager I to support daily branch operations and sales objectives. Under the Branch Manager, you will balance customer service, operations, and team development to meet branch targets.

You will coach staff, drive personal and platform sales, ensure compliance, and act as manager on duty when needed. A high school diploma and 2–4 years banking experience is preferred, with 1–2 years supervisory experience expected.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years retail banking experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of supervisory experience required; experience in retail banking environment strongly preferred.
• Strong problem resolution skills.
• Basic business acumen and professionalism.
• Ability to communicate information so others will understand.
• Ability to build relationships and strong alliances across the organization.
• Must gain and retain knowledge of bank products and services.
• Understand the "big picture" in banking and profitability.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• History of solid sales and service success.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily management of a banking office under the branch manager.
• Achieve personal sales goals and guide sales activities of platform staff toward branch goals.
• Coach staff in sales and service using tested techniques.
• Understand major aspects of the retail incentive plan and business loans to coach staff.
• Oversee daily branch operations including overdraft and vault management, schedules, opening/closing.
• Ensure adherence to audit and compliance requirements.
• Maintain high customer service levels within the branch.
• Act as manager on duty when the Branch Manager is away.
• Possibly perform performance appraisals as directed by Branch Manager.
