Job summary

Grainger is hiring a Branch Sales Associate for a full-time, first-shift role. You will connect with walk-in customers, provide solutions using guided knowledge, maximize sales opportunities, and support warehouse tasks. The role reports to the Store Manager and blends customer service with inventory and merchandising responsibilities.

You will learn multiple computer systems and follow safety guidelines, including PPE, while helping maintain Grainger standards and excellent customer experience.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work any time within branch hours.
• Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Learn and operate powered industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire customer experience, including appropriate product selection, accurate order entry, safe picking of product, and safe loading of the customer vehicle.
• Look for ways to maximize sales opportunities and encourage customer loyalty.
• Adapt communication style to differing audiences in email, over the phone, or in person.
• Pick, prepare, and stage will call orders/shipping product.
• Prepare customer backorders and put away other stock received.
• Help with merchandising and perform showroom replenishment.
• Perform inventory counts.
• Learn and easily navigate through different computer systems for customer-facing and warehouse activities.
• Perform housekeeping tasks to ensure branch appearance meets Grainger standards.
• Agree to safety guidelines and comply with all process standards, including wearing personal protective equipment.
