Job summary

Grainger is seeking a branch associate to manage the end-to-end customer experience, including product selection, order entry, and loading customer vehicles. You’ll maximize sales, adapt communication for diverse audiences, and prepare will-call orders and shipments.

Responsibilities include inventory counts, merchandising, and showroom replenishment while following safety guidelines and using multiple computer systems. You will report to the Store Manager in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates strong customer service skills by managing the entire customer experience, maximizing sales opportunities, and effectively communicating with diverse audiences.
• Proficient in inventory management, product selection, and operating powered industrial equipment while adhering to safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire customer experience, including product selection, order entry, safely picking product, and loading customer vehicles
• Maximize sales opportunities and encourage customer loyalty
• Adapt communication style to differing audiences via email, phone, and in person
• Pick, prepare, and stage will-call orders and shipping product
• Prepare customer backorders and put away other stock received
• Help with merchandising and perform showroom replenishment
• Perform inventory counts
• Learn and navigate different computer systems for customer-facing and warehouse activities
• Perform housekeeping tasks to ensure branch appearance meets Grainger standards
• Report to the Store Manager
