Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Branch Rental Manager to optimize rental margins and revenue through vehicle utilization, cost control, and aggressive marketing.

The role oversees outside sales, customer retention, fleet management, cash handling, and a marketing plan at the branch level. Responsibilities include hiring and training staff, conducting performance appraisals, and driving fleet utilization with a focus on market share growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
• Five (5) years or more Rental or Sales experience required.
• Three (3) years or more experience in Rental product line to include outside sales & rental counter supervision required.
• Two (2) years or more experience managing others required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office environment advanced required.
• Complete understanding of marketplace conditions to maximize rental fleet utilization.

Responsibilities

• Outside Sales/Marketing: Sets appointments with prospective customers and performs customer retention visits.
• Rental: Ensures rental contracts are properly completed and vehicles are ready.
• Personnel Management: New hire recruitment, training, and performance appraisals.
• Coordinate and maintain current accurate data within the marketing database.
• Maintain and expand relationships with existing customer base and maximize rate opportunities.
