Job summary

Gulf Coast Bank & Trust is seeking an Operations Officer to oversee Universal Banker duties and daily branch operations, ensuring outstanding customer service and properly implemented security measures.

The role includes supervision of Universal Bankers, scheduling, cash handling, and maintaining regulatory compliance within the branch. This position may involve mentoring staff, coordinating resources, and stepping in for the Branch Manager when necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2–5 years of consumer banking experience.
• Experience supervising platform/teller operations and cash handling.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance laws with ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent customer service and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, mentor, delegate, and work independently or as a team.
• Familiarity with software applications and office equipment.
• Attention to detail and ability to research using intranet/internet.

Responsibilities

• Open/close the branch daily and manage employee schedules.
• Monitor branch cash general ledger accounts and reconcile cash limits.
• Ensure daily processing of customer transactions and branch capture.
• Maintain internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Protect confidential information including passwords.
• Balance ATM (if on-site) and troubleshoot issues.
• Communicate facility needs to management for branch upkeep.
• Serve as security officer and conduct monthly security meetings.
• Mentor Universal Bankers and support Branch Manager.
• Deploy resources to optimize team performance.
• Fill in as Branch Manager when needed.
• Perform other duties and special projects.
