Job summary

Performance Home Medical is seeking a motivated Branch Office Specialist to join our patient‑focused Customer Service team in Washington. You will assist walk‑ins, handle re‑supplies, and address insurance questions with professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to multitask while providing empathetic service to patients, referral sources, and insurers. On‑site training is provided to ensure success.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare customer service is a plus but not required.
• Background in medical equipment preferred but training is provided.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.

Responsibilities

• Assist walk-in patients with check-in for appointments, re-supplies, or questions about equipment.
• Understand insurance coverage criteria to provide accurate information to patients.
• Route and reconcile undetermined tickets; answer incoming calls efficiently.
• Operate phone systems and maintain professional, courteous communication.
• Schedule patient appointments and support clinicians as directed.

As a part of our Customer Service team, you must be responsible, reliable, detail orientated and can multitask in a fast-paced environment. You must also have good people skills to deal with patients, referral sources, and insurance companies on the phone and internet. Previous professional experience or educational background in healthcare customer service or is a plus but not required.
