Job summary

Performance Home Medical is seeking a motivated Branch Office Specialist to join our Customer Service Team. You will assist with walk-in patients, manage check-ins for appointments and equipment, and coordinate with insurance providers to provide accurate information.

The role requires excellent communication, empathy, and strong computer skills in a fast-paced clinical support environment. On-site in Chicago, with comprehensive onboarding and training provided.

Qualifications

• Healthcare customer service experience is a plus, not required.
• Background in medical equipment is preferred but we will train the right candidate.
• Experience handling patient interactions by phone and in person is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist walk-in patients with check-in for appointments, re-supplies, or questions about equipment.
• Understand insurance coverage criteria to dispense accurate information.
• Maintain professional and courteous demeanor with patients and referral sources.
• Answer incoming phone calls in a timely and courteous manner.
• Schedule patient appointments and assist clinicians as directed.
• Troubleshoot patient issues with equipment support both in person and over the phone.

As a part of our Customer Service team, you must be responsible, reliable, detail orientated and can multitask in a fast-paced environment. You must also have good people skills to deal with patients, referral sources, and insurance companies on the phone and internet. Previous professional experience or educational background in healthcare customer service or is a plus but not required.
