Job summary

Heritage Bank seeks a Post-Closing Banking Specialist to join our team in Minnesota. The role combines mortgage post-closing expertise with on-site branch support, working across Spicer, Pennock, Raymond, and Willmar branches.

You’ll handle post-closing tasks while assisting customers in-person and through digital channels. The position requires strong mortgage post-closing experience, detail orientation, and the ability to travel among MN branches.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of mortgage post-closing or related banking experience.
• Retail banking or customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with mortgage closing packages and investor delivery.
• Knowledge of mortgage regulatory requirements.
• Ability to travel among MN branches as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Mortgage Post-Closing and Operational Support (70-80%): review files for completeness and compliance.
• Complete post-closing audits and resolve conditions and documentation exceptions.
• Prepare and deliver loan packages to investors and custodians on time.
• Monitor trailing documents and collateral documentation; coordinate corrections.
• Ensure accurate delivery of loan data to investors and custodians.
• Track post-closing pipelines and aging reports; manage loan sale requirements.
• Review investor purchase conditions and funding exceptions.
• Manage mortgage document storage, imaging, indexing, and retention.
• Assist with audits, quality control, and regulatory documentation requests.
• Maintain knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA, TRID, HMDA, RESPA, regulations.
• Identify process improvements and support efficiency initiatives.
• Assist with collateral file maintenance and delivery requirements.
• Support mortgage quality control activities and remediation of findings.
• Branch Banking and Customer Support (20-30%): on-site coverage at MN branches.
• Assist customers with deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments, and teller tasks.
• Support account opening and maintenance; promote digital tools.
• Provide outstanding in-person and digital customer service.
• Serve as a resource for branch teams and training materials.
