Job summary

Kitsap Credit Union, a not-for-profit credit union serving Western Washington, seeks a Member Specialist for the South Kitsap Branch in Port Orchard. You’ll deepen member relationships, cross-sell products, and promote digital/self-serve options.

The role requires a strong service mindset, ability to work Saturdays, and knowledge of consumer lending. This is a full-time, in-person position with a 5% bonus target potential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of experience in a financial institution performing teller, new accounts and account maintenance.
• One year of consumer lending (personal, Auto and Credit Cards) experience preferred.
• Availability during Saturdays and extended business hours.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills including listening, speaking and writing.
• Understanding of credit fundamentals and underwriting criteria preferred.
• Must be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) within 30 days of hire and comply with SAFE Act.
• Ability to present, explain and refer products and services.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and self-service technology.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage all visitors and members; conduct business.
• Cross-sell products and services; assist with teller, lending, and new accounts.
• Accept ownership to improve processes and add value.
• Generate new loan and membership business through sales and community events.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement and team efficiency.
• Open business accounts and coordinate with Member Business Lending as needed.
• Process loan applications for consumer, Home Equity, and Mortgage loans.
• Promote digital self-service options and educate on new products.
