Job summary

Seattle Credit Union is seeking a driven Member Consultant to enhance the member experience at our Greater Seattle branches. This in-branch role emphasizes customer service, product knowledge, and proactive sales support to help members achieve financial wellness.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of college or equivalent training/experience.
• One (1)+ year of experience in retail banking or credit union.
• This position requires the ability to work at any assigned credit union branch location.
• Proven track record with financial sales products.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the state and federal regulations such as Reg. B, Reg. E, Reg. D, Reg. CC, Reg. Z, and the Bank Secrecy Act.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
• Progressive thinker with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with members.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to arrive on time for all scheduled shifts.
• Ability to comprehend and apply credit union policy, procedure and protocols.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).

Responsibilities

• Back up Teller role as needed.
• Knowledgeable of all credit union products, services, policies, procedures and channels, including digital banking.
• Proactively support member inquiries from in-person, phone, text, chat, or email channels.
• Advise members on financial wellness and appropriate products, knowledge, and solutions.
• Lead by example in promoting and selling credit union products and services, including loans, deposits, CDs, and estate planning.
• Participate in resolving member issues and concerns.
• Mentor and coach less experienced teammates to support high performance.
• Carry out and occasionally lead projects while balancing day-to-day tasks.
• Develop and maintain relations with key members and community partners.
• Produce quality work with varying levels of difficulty and turnaround times.
