Job summary

Mariner Finance in Altoona, Alabama is seeking a Branch Loan Specialist to provide quality service to existing and prospective loan customers. You will help meet branch goals by applying lending knowledge to approve applications and recommend loan solutions.

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree or 4 years in consumer lending, willingness to relocate, strong communication and problem solving, and the ability to work at the assigned branch.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years in Consumer Lending/Financial Services; military rank may substitute.
• Willing to relocate and travel to surrounding branches; reliable transportation.
• Effective written and oral communication; PC skills.
• Ability to complete duties timely and accurately.
• Problem-solving and interpersonal skills in demanding situations.
• Must obtain licenses to sell insurance; work at assigned branch location.
• Work hours and responsibilities as per branch schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality service to existing and prospective loan customers.
• Meet branch sales goals related to the sale of company products and services.
• Review and approve applications; offer loan solutions that meet customer needs.
• Participate in Branch Manager Training Program.
• Assist management in daily task assignments to ensure quality service.
• Approve exceptions to policy as authorized by management.
• Proactively retain and cross-sell to existing customers.
• Coordinate with District Manager/AVP to manage priorities.
• Monitor expenses and review income statements to implement actions.
• Lead the branch in the absence of the manager.
• Perform relief assignments across markets as needed.
• Other duties including payments collection, loan processing, and admin tasks.
