Job summary

Library Systems & Services, a public library services provider, seeks a Branch Manager I to oversee day-to-day operations of a small library system in Cabazon, CA. You will lead the programming and outreach team and ensure exceptional patron service while aligning procedures with organizational standards.

The role reports to the Deputy Director and requires a BA/BS plus three years of supervisory and library management experience. Spanish skills are a plus, and a MLIS is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MLIS or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience, preferably in a library or related public service environment.
• Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in library management and/or administration.
• Ability to speak, write, and listen clearly and professionally.
• Spanish ability a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the library's programming and outreach team and facilitate regular team meetings.
• Propose and prioritize programming and outreach initiatives for Deputy Director approval.
• Develop and distribute the programming and outreach schedule across platforms and teams.
• Oversee library promotional efforts (print, social media, website).
• Identify and implement strategies to improve library operations and create new service opportunities.
• Demonstrate strong customer service and respond to patron needs within policy.
• Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to set goals and make decisions.
• Assess situations and make timely, risk-informed decisions.
• Develop strategies to advance library goals and evaluate outcomes.
• Analyze trends to align with mission and values.
• Support planning and promotion of the library’s strategic plan with Deputy Director.
• Ensure compliance with patron privacy and records policies.
