Job summary

O'Connell Branch Library is seeking a Branch Manager to oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure exceptional public service at the Cambridge location. You will partner with Library Services leadership to set priorities, develop programs and collections, manage budgets, recruit and train staff, and build strong relationships with schools and community groups to serve diverse residents.

This role requires a MLS and a commitment to equity, inclusion, and anti-racism in all library

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an ALA-accredited MLS program is required.
• Experience working with diverse populations is required.
• Substitutions may be made for part or all of the required elements in exceptional cases.

Responsibilities

• Lead branch operations and staff development to support library mission.
• Direct branch activities and supervise all branch staff.
• Recruit and train new branch staff and evaluate performance.
• Provide frontline leadership and promote library initiatives.
• Manage branch budget and ensure fiscal responsibility.
• Coordinate programming for youth and adults.
• Ensure equity and access for underserved communities in Cambridge.
