Job summary

First Financial Credit Union is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Montclair branch. You will lead a small team, supervise daily operations, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations while delivering exceptional member service.

You will coach staff, foster teamwork, and support branch goals in sales and operational excellence. A strong regulatory background and people leadership are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in a financial institution or banking environment
• Experience or knowledge in Real Estate lending, Consumer Lending, and product knowledge preferred
• Business development experience preferred
• Proven track record of increasing branch sales and profitability
• Knowledge of Credit Union operations and audit experience
• Demonstrated supervisory skills to manage 3+ employees
• Understanding of Human Resource laws and regulations
• Ability to work independently and in teams, with strong decision-making and coaching abilities

Responsibilities

• Branch opening and closing procedures in accordance with policy
• Coaches and develops employees to cross-sell and improve sales knowledge
• Assists Branch Manager with coaching and development plans
• Team building and promoting a positive culture
• Ensure employee satisfaction and positive team culture
• Recommend candidates for hire, termination, or discipline
• Assist with funding consumer loans and document reviews for accuracy
• Maintain knowledge of branch operations, audits, vault and cash processes
• Support daily branch activities and staff supervision
• Review progress of assignments and assist with salary adjustments
• Provide ongoing Personal Development opportunities and training
