Job summary

Cathay Bank in New York is seeking a Branch Manager to oversee service levels, branch operations, and personnel administration while promoting a service-driven sales culture.

You will supervise Relationship Bankers and Operations staff, drive sales goals, coach staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with managers to onboard customers and expand portfolio opportunities. Strong English and Chinese language, supervisory experience, and knowledge of banking policies are required.

Qualifications

• College degree a plus.
• 3–5 years’ experience in a similar capacity with management/supervisory responsibilities.
• Thorough knowledge of bank policies and procedures.
• Direct sales experience desired.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bi-lingual English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with bank personnel, clients and cross-sell opportunities to meet needs.
• Develop and track team performance goals and coaching processes.
• Achieve assigned sales and production goals.
• Collaborate with Branch/Relationship Manager on onboarding plans and product setup.
• Support marketing efforts to drive branch growth and profitability.
• May register as Mortgage Loan Originator to assist with loan inquiries.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and branch operational integrity.
• Lead general operations: accounts, teller, security, and risk controls.
