Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to support daily branch operations and lead drivers in day-to-day activities, ensuring timely, safe, and efficient performance.

The role involves coordinating routes, supervising staff, and ensuring adherence to safety and DOT policies. The position requires a high school diploma (associate degree preferred), CDL-A or CDL training within 90 days, and 1+ year leadership experience in transportation.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in Business Management, Logistics or Operations Management or related field preferred.
• Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver’s license or complete company paid CDL training within 90 days of employment.
• 1+ years of experience in transportation industry and leadership preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• DOT physical exam may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support daily branch operations and lead drivers to ensure timely, safe, and efficient operations.
• Complete routes for employees who are absent.
• Assist with daily morning duties such as sorting freight and loading trucks.
• Help track and update daily department reports.
• Monitor compliance with safety, DOT, and company policies.
• Monitor freight flow and route performance; elevate issues to leadership.
• Recommend and implement measures to improve productivity, equipment, work methods, and customer service.
• Participate in weekly operational meetings.
• Provide feedback to management regarding performance evaluations, attendance or safety concerns.
• Assist in training and onboarding of new staff.
• Travel may be required.
