Job summary

Associated Bank is seeking a Branch Banking Quality Assurance Specialist to strengthen the branch risk and control environment. You will evaluate branch processes, perform scheduled and unannounced assessments, and partner with branch leaders to address opportunities and strengthen controls.

This role builds expertise in banking operations, risk management, and quality assurance across the branch network. The position requires an Associate’s Degree or equivalent, 4+ years of banking experience,

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4+ years of banking experience.
• Ability to travel frequently, including up to 100% depending on business needs.
• Experience with branch operations, quality assurance, compliance, risk management, or control testing.
• Experience evaluating processes, identifying control gaps, and communicating findings to business partners.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled and unannounced branch assessments based on risk-based requirements and testing standards.
• Evaluate branch processes and controls to identify deficiencies and compliance concerns.
• Communicate assessment results and observations to branch management with clear written reporting.
• Partner with branch leaders to recommend corrective actions and strengthen risk and control practices.
• Maintain documentation of testing activities, evidence, findings, and follow-up actions.
• Escalate significant control deficiencies to Consumer Risk Management.
• Perform targeted assessments and QA testing as assigned.
• Apply knowledge of branch procedures and internal controls to ensure consistent assessments.
