Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Branch Teller in Laurel, MD to support daily branch operations, assist customers with transactions, and identify opportunities to meet banking needs. You will educate customers on Consumer and Business Banking solutions and promote digital tools to enhance service.

The role requires at least 1 year of retail/customer service experience, strong communication, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Occasional bilingual ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and 1 year of proven retail sales or customer service experience.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact with a range of customers from consumer to small business.
• Proficiency with internet and basic digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Educate customers on Consumer and Business Banking solutions and make recommendations.
• Engage customers and promote digital capabilities in interactions.
• Explain loan decision criteria at a high level.
• Complete servicing tasks and identify cross-sell opportunities.
• Follow the branch sales process and provide customer-focused guidance.
• Proactively reach out to retain and expand relationships.
• Log and resolve customer issues and ensure accurate transactions.
