Goetsch's Welding & Machine, Inc. in Merrill, WI is seeking a skilled Brake Press and/or Laser Operator for 1st shift (5am-3pm) or 2nd shift (3pm-1am) with a $2/hour shift differential.

The role involves operating brake press and/or laser fab equipment, fabricating metal components to precise specifications and reading blueprints. Candidates should have experience in metal fabrication, strong math/measurement skills, good communication, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Brake Press/Laser Operator in a metal fabrication environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and work orders.
• Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent with vocational/technical training in metal fabrication or related field.
• Willingness to cross train between the laser and brake press areas.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate brake press and laser machines to bend, cut, and manipulate metal components according to blueprints, diagrams, or work orders.
• Review job orders and drawings to determine materials, specifications, and requirements.
• Adjust machine settings to ensure accurate and precise fabrication.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Collaborate with production team to ensure efficient and timely completion of orders.
• Follow all safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Document production records, including materials used, machine settings, and quantities produced.
• Continuously improve processes and techniques to optimize efficiency and quality.

Brake Press and/or Laser Operator - 1st Shift or 2nd Shift

Brake Press Operator and/or Laser Fab Operator - 1st Shift & 2nd Shift (4-10hrs)

1st shift position: 5am-3pm (Mon-Thur) _ Overtime as needed.

2nd Shift position - Monday thru Thursday - 3pm -1am, may require overtime hours beyond normal shift or on Fridays, when needed. Hourly wage plus an additional $2/hr. shift differential.

Located approx. 7 miles north of Wausau, WI on County Road K and approx. 8 miles south of Merrill, WI on County Road K.

Summary for Brake Press / Laser Operator:

We are actively seeking a skilled Brake Press and/or Laser Operator to join our team for either the 1st or 2nd shift. Preferred Requirements for Brake Press / Laser Operator:

• Proven experience as a Brake Press/Laser Operator in a metal fabrication environment
• Knowledge of raw materials, fabrication machines and fabrication processes
• Ability to readand interpretblueprints, diagrams, and work orders
• Strong mathematical and measurement skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills along with organization and prioritization
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) and stand for long periods
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with relevant software applicationsWillingness to cross train between the laser and brake press areas

Preferred Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent withvocational or technical training in metal fabrication or related field
• Prior sheet metal CNC brake press and/or laser experience
