Job summary

Goetsch's Welding & Machine, Inc. in Merrill, WI is seeking a skilled Brake Press and/or Laser Operator for 1st shift (5am-3pm) or 2nd shift (3pm-1am) with a $2/hour shift differential.

The role involves operating brake press and/or laser fab equipment, fabricating metal components to precise specifications and reading blueprints. Candidates should have experience in metal fabrication, strong math/measurement skills, good communication, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Brake Press/Laser Operator in a metal fabrication environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and work orders.
• Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent with vocational/technical training in metal fabrication or related field.
• Willingness to cross train between the laser and brake press areas.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate brake press and laser machines to bend, cut, and manipulate metal components according to blueprints, diagrams, or work orders.
• Review job orders and drawings to determine materials, specifications, and requirements.
• Adjust machine settings to ensure accurate and precise fabrication.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Collaborate with production team to ensure efficient and timely completion of orders.
• Follow all safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Document production records, including materials used, machine settings, and quantities produced.
• Continuously improve processes and techniques to optimize efficiency and quality.
