Deering High School is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable candidate to serve as the Boys Basketball Assistant/First Team-Freshman Coach for the 2026-27 season. The coach will lead our BBASK First Team and assist the Varsity Head Coach when available.

Applicants must complete CHRC, NFHS coaching certification courses, and PPS HR clearances prior to employment. Preference given to those with high school, club, or college coaching experience and previous high school or college playing

Competenze

• HS or college basketball playing experience required.
• Previous coaching (HS, club, or college) experience preferred.
• DOE CHRC required and coaching certification coursework via NFHS.

Deering H.S. is currently looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable candidate to serve as our Boys Basketball Asst./First Team-Freshman Coach for the 2026-27 season. Candidate must be flexible to work within a cooperative team environment. Previous coaching (H.S., club or college) and/or teaching experience is preferred. H.S. or college basketball playing expereince required. Home games are played at DHS' Gymnasium on Stevens Ave. The Asst. Coach role will consist of coaching and leading our BBASK First Team program and assisting the DHS Varsity Head Coach when available/as needed.
Applicants must hold a current State of Maine Department of Education (DOE) Criminal History Records Check (CHRC), and complete all required MPA coaching certificaiton courses via the NFHS, all PPS HR clearance paperwork and must be formally onboarded by PPS HR prior to employment. EOE.
