Job summary

Deering High School is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable candidate to serve as the Boys Basketball Assistant/First Team-Freshman Coach for the 2026-27 season. The coach will lead our BBASK First Team and assist the Varsity Head Coach when available.

Applicants must complete CHRC, NFHS coaching certification courses, and PPS HR clearances prior to employment. Preference given to those with high school, club, or college coaching experience and previous high school or college playing

Qualifications

• HS or college basketball playing experience required.
• Previous coaching (HS, club, or college) experience preferred.
• DOE CHRC required and coaching certification coursework via NFHS.

Responsibilities

• Coach and lead the BBASK First Team program and assist the DHS Varsity Head Coach as needed.
• Must be flexible to work within a cooperative team environment.
• Ensure onboarding and required clearances are completed before employment.
