Deering High School seeks an enthusiastic and knowledgeable assistant coach for the 2026-27 season. The role supports the Varsity Head Coach and leads the JV Team, with preference for prior HS/club/college coaching and playing experience.

Applicants must obtain a Maine DOE CHRC, complete NFHS coaching certification via PPS HR, and be onboarded by PPS HR before employment.

Deering H.S. is currently looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable candidate to serve as our Varsity Boys Basketball Assistant Coach for the 2026-27 season.

Candidate must be flexible to work within a cooperative team environment. Previous coaching (H.S., club or college) and/or teaching experience is preferred. H.S. or college basketball playing experience required. Home games are played at DHS' Gymnasium on Stevens Ave. The Asst. Coach role will consist of assisting the DHS Varsity Head Coach and leading/coaching our JV Team as well.

Applicants must hold a current State of Maine Department of Education (DOE) Criminal History Records Check (CHRC), and complete all required MPA coaching certification courses via the NFHS, all PPS HR clearance paperwork and must be formally onboarded by PPS HR prior to employment.
