Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking a Machine Assistant to support the machine operator in setup, operation, and cleanup of the run. You will help optimize speed and quality, learn multiple box styles, and ensure accurate reporting and maintenance requests. This role requires eye for detail, good attendance, and adherence to safety and housekeeping standards.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and strong reading/comprehension skills. Prior corrugated industry experience is a plus.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to read and interpret operating instructions and manuals.
Excellent communication and listening skills.
Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

Accurate and efficient set-up of all folding and gluing operations.
Minimize waste of sheet stock and glue.
Operate machine to run efficiently and produce quality products.
Maximize equipment utilization by operating at capacity and speed.
Learn to run a variety of box styles.
Check quality of boxes during the run for defects.
Complete reports: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data.
Submit maintenance work orders and assist in equipment maintenance.
Adhere to production schedule; suggest improvements to meet cost, quality and service goals.
Maintain safety and good housekeeping.
Excellent attendance and organizational skills.
