Job summary

The Atlanta Opera is seeking a Box Office Sales Manager to oversee box office operations, ticketing and retail transactions while delivering exceptional customer service. This full-time, exempt role works closely with marketing to drive earned revenue and support campaigns as we move into our new facility.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of box office, ticketing, or sales operations experience in performing arts or live events.
• Proficiency in Tessitura or similar ticketing/CRM system.
• Experience with point-of-sale and e-commerce platforms; box office or sales management a plus.
• Proven ability to lead sales initiatives and manage customer service teams.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends during performance periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day box office management for subscriptions, single tickets, group sales, and comps.
• Supervise and train sales and box-office staff in customer service and Tessitura procedures.
• Collaborate with Revenue Operations to build performances, packages, and promotions in Tessitura; troubleshoot issues.
• Coordinate house scaling, ticket inventory, and access codes with marketing and production teams.
• Ensure patron communications and pre-show logistics align with Front of House operations.
• Manage all aspects of Patron Services and Shop Opera retail operations.
• Oversee streaming subscription sales for the Atlanta Opera Film Studio.
• Support sales related to the new Molly Blank Center for Opera and the Arts facility.
• Develop strategies to meet ticketing and retail goals; analyze trends for opportunities.
• Provide service to individual and group buyers, donors, and corporate clients.
• Ensure timely and accurate reports and credit card batching.
