Job summary

Palihotel San Francisco, a Palisociety property, is seeking an upbeat espresso enthusiast to prepare and serve coffee drinks, small bites, and other refreshments. You’ll learn our service steps, menu, and systems, and help create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

The role focuses on crafting beverages, answering questions about ingredients, and collaborating with hotel staff to highlight exclusive offerings to overnight guests. Weekend and holiday shifts are required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience in a similar position, preferably in a high-volume restaurant.
• Clear thinker who stays calm and resolves problems using good judgment; works cohesively as part of a team.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, friendly, laidback atmosphere that turns first-time guests into regulars.
• Learn steps of service, products, menu, and systems inside and out.
• Take orders, make espresso drinks, and serve coffee and other refreshments from the bar.
• Answer guest questions about ingredients and adjust milk, sugar, and espresso ratios to preference.
• Work with the team to keep the coffee bar, restaurant, and bar running smoothly, tidy, and fun for guests and staff alike.
• Restock, replenish, and prep the coffee bar and side-work areas as needed.
• Collaborate with hotel staff to make sure overnight guests know about the bar and restaurant's exclusive offerings.
