Job summary

Graham Manufacturing is seeking a Boring Mill Operator to set up and run a manual boring mill, reading blueprints and instructions to produce accurate parts. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with overtime as needed and a second shift schedule.

Qualifications

• GED and machining fundamentals required.
• BOCES training or equivalent in progressive machine shop assignments.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate boring mill for boring, turning, and facing castings, jigs, fixtures, etc.
• Improvise holding fixtures when standard fixtures do not serve.
• Set feeds, speeds, cut depth, and select tools.
• Perform in-process inspection using measuring tools and indicators.
• Read blueprints and work instructions; follow safety policies.
• Supply personal tools (square, scale, tape, hammer, wrench) as needed.
• Identify and implement continual improvement opportunities.
