U.S. Customs and Border Protection invites qualified applicants to become Border Patrol Agents (BPAs). This federal role offers base pay at GL‑5/7/9/GS‑11 levels with potential promotion to GS‑12, comprehensive benefits, and up to $50k in recruitment/retention incentives.

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to make sound decisions and remain composed in stressful situations.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study from an accredited college or university, can substitute for experience.
• Combination of general experience and education may qualify for higher grades; education must be documented with transcripts.

Responsabilidades

• Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspect documents to determine eligibility or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and field tools.
• Interpret tracks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband; perform farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrol international boundaries and waters using vehicles, horses, vessels, or other assets to fulfill CBP mission.
