U.S. Customs and Border Protection is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) at various grades. The role involves enforcing immigration and border laws, performing inspections, and patrolling extensive duty locations with a strong benefits package.

Newly hired BPAs may receive recruitment incentives up to $20,000 and retention incentives up to $30,000. Training at the Border Patrol Academy is provided, with career advancement opportunities within the GL/GS pay scales.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and remain calm under stress.
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university, or a full four-year course of study in any field.
• A combination of general work experience AND college education will be considered.

Responsabilités

• Detect and question people suspected of immigration and customs violations and inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance.
• Interpret tracks, marks, and other evidence of illegal entry of persons or contraband.
• Perform farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrol the international boundary and coastal waterways using a range of government assets.
